safe-kids-logo

Safety of children is the primary duty of every parent. There is nothing worse for a parent than losing a child. With an aim of creating safer homes and protecting children from the risk of fire and burns and other common accidents, which occur at home, Safe Kids Foundation with a support from Honeywell launched Safe Kids at Home Program in Pune on November 2, 2015. It is an interactive school-based educational program consisting of interactive classroom activities, home assignments, games, videos and songs.

Mission

The Program aims to protect children from fire and burn injuries through training and awareness in schools, communities and among caregivers. It aspires to bring together citizens and civic bodies who can lead the way in making Pune a model ‘Safe Kids at Home’ city in India and will reach out to 4,25,000 students and 2,50,000 parents by the end of FY 2018 through class room sessions and community events.

Research

Safe Kids at Home, is a research backed home safety program. A study (click to read the full research study) was conducted in Pune in September 2015. 1,117 respondents were surveyed consisting of parents, general practitioners, teachers and children to assess incidences of physical injuries among children below 14 years of age in Pune.
